Please reach out…

Hi ,

As I am writing this email the rain is falling and this is an indication that fall is just around the corner.

September is suicide prevention month. I feel that this year more people are having suicidal thoughts than ever. It comes as no surprise that there are more suicides now than in previous years.

The last few years have been very difficult for many people. You might know someone who is living with depression. You might be living with depression yourself. I admit I do feel depressed from time to time. I have mostly good days, and sometimes, when my life gets tough, I cry and I feel that no one cares…

I could not imagine feeling like that all the time. I have worked with clients who were suffering from mental health conditions. I really got to understand their views on how they felt and what they were thinking about. I can understand that it is really debilitating.

So, the reason for this email is to ask you to reach out to your loved ones, coworkers, neighbours and make sure they are OK.

If you feel that you need to talk with someone, you can email me back or call me (604) 839-4836. Or call the Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Centre of BC at (604) 872-3311.

You are not alone; you are loved and you matter! The world is a better place because you are part of it.

I am sending you thoughts of love and support.

Until next time… be kind to one another.
Denise
